PS3 Decr Poject: tra luci ed ombre
Da qualche giorno, in rete ha ripreso a risuaonare il nome del coder che qualche mese fa aveva annunciato di aver ottenuto la "mtlr key" del fw 3.56 della PlayStation3: adrianc.
Nella scena underground della console di casa Sony, sono stati pochi i personaggi che sono riusciti a dare un apporto consistente alla scena, e forse proprio perchè aveva già riscosso un leggero successo qualche tempo addietro, adrianc ha richiesto l'aiuto dei suoi sostenitori e di tutti coloro che avessero avuto voglia di investire su di lui, avviando una campagna di donazioni fino al raggiungimento della quota di 1800$, cifra che gli avrebbe permesse, secondo lui, di acquistare una PS3 DECR-1000a, che, a quanto afferma, gli consentirebbe di estrarre la "mtlr key" anche dai nuovi Fw.
Documentandosi un pò sulla grande rete, si arriva a scoprire che l'oggetto tanto desiderato da adrianc, non è altro che una console data agli sviluppatori per poter eseguire codice non firmato e dotata del doppio della ram (512MB in questo caso, rispetto ai canonici 256MB).
Continuando a pulciare il web, si apprende che tale console ha comunque il Fw criptato, per cui le varie key, compresa la mtlr, non sono in bella vista, ma potrebbero comunque essere decrittate con dei software ad-hoc.
Tutto questo è lodevole, dato che probabilmente stiamo parlando di un ragazzo, per il quale, mettere insieme 1800$ non deve essere semplice, infatti in molti hanno contribuito a tale progetto con piccole donazioni.
Il successo è stato tale, che nell'arco di una giornata, adrianc, aveva già raccimolato circa 1000$.
Ma ora arriva il colpo di scena.
Questa mattina, se qualcuno di voi era tra coloro che, credendo molto nel progetto, ha deciso di investire un pò del proprio denaro, probabilmente si è preso un "coccolone" provandosi a collegare al sito ufficiale del progetto ([URL]http://ps3decr.blogspot.com/[/URL]) e vedendo che era stato eliminato.
Anche l'account di Twitter ha subito la stessa fine, ma è comunque rimasto online il suo ultimo Tweet:

Persino i membri dello staff di PSX-Scene.com che erano in contatto diretto con adrianc non riuscivano a contattarlo.
Ciò ha fatto subito pensare a molti ad una truffa ben organizzata, dal momento che appena presi i soldi, il coder era sparito dalla circolazione.
Dopo qualche ora di panico generale (gente che gridava ingiurie nei confronti di adrianc; chi sperava che fosse uno scherzo che che il coder in realtà si sarebbe fatto vivo entro breve dicendo che i soldi erano al sicuro e non stati spesi a donne, e champagne; chi desiderava che i soldi rubati fossero spesi a medecine), è apparso per la rete uno stralcio del log di una conversazione di adrianc su IRC:

Riassumendo, la conversazione è tra adrianc ed un altro utente riguardo l'abbandono del progetto, al quale dice che la chiusura è stata dovuta al raggiungimento della somma dato che oltre ai 1100$ ottenuti con le donazioni, ne ha ricevuti anche 250 da "psx-scene" e 400 da "gdev sale", ma questo (chissà come mail ndr.) non veniva riportato nel post di Twitter.
Durante la conversazione, salta fuori che qualcuno ha fatto al coder, un "offerta che non poteva rifiutare" (non specificando l'autore dell'offerta) al che l'utente gli ha ricordato che questa non è la mafia ma che per correttezza dovrebbe dire come stanno le cose.
Ora, nulla c'è di certo, ma si spera, per coloro che hanno investito in questo progetto, che adrianc non li abbia presi in giro, e che l'offerta trattata sopra, sia effettivamente per l'acquisto della PS3 Decr-1000a, anche perchè, queste console dovrebbero essere tutte registrate, per cui potrebbe essere giustificata la tanto segretezza dietro questa vicenda.
