Fat PS3 CECHK07 80G shutdown in certain games and weird
Hi guys,
My PS3 shutdown in certain games, such as Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, GT6, WatchDog, Armored Core-Verdict Day.
My PS3 specification is listed as below:
1.Rogero 4.55 CFW
2.Fujitsu 80GB
3.PSU: EADP-260AB (http://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/Power_Supply)
Software list:
1. multiMAN ver 04.66.06 BASE
2. Fan_Control_Utility_2.07
3. CcApi_package_2.60
4. reActPSN v3.20
5. PS2 PlaceHolder
When first time got red light blink and 3 beeps, I did these:
1. Reflow and flux CPU, GPU, Southbridge chip, RAM
2. Replace the thermal compound under the CPU and GPU IHS'
Then I set Fan Control to Playload mode, Manual mode(60%), Max Speed to try these games.
Some games can be played right, Dragon's Crown(in HDD), Street Fighter 4(in HDD), MGS 5 Ground Zeroes (in HDD), MGS 4(BD), Gundam Musou 2(BD), NINJA 2(BD).
In Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (in HDD), still shutdown again after Loading into game every time.
In Gundam Musou 3 (in HDD), shutdown again after Loading into game.
In Armored Core-Verdict Day(in HDD), always shutdown in same level but others are worked.
I try GT4 using PS2 PlaceHolder, shutdown when creating save files.
The temperatures of CPU and RSX are 58 and 60, separately, using ccapi to measure that.
So I format hard drive in PC using low level format, then re-setup all again. But unfortunately, the same bad result.
I measure 12V and 5V of BD-ray power, it work fine, I think this is why my BD games can be played.
The voltages of PSU are steady, 12.15 and 5.11.
I doubt that my PSU: EADP-260AB is older and no efficiency.

It has 12V 21.5A (258W) and 5V 0.6A (3W) and 79.09% efficiency. If PSU works fine, it should be almost 206W.
I survey other news and videos about fat PS3's power consumption, it is about 180w when playing games.
This would be close to max load of PSU, I think that 's why some intensive games are dead.
However, there's one thing not make sense why MGS 4 and MGS 5 can be played right. These should be intensive graphic games, too.
So I doubt the 5V 0.6A (3W) of PSU is bad because the 2.5 SATA HDD may be need more power than that(I don't know, maybe different brands of HDD have different power consumption).
Is PS3' SATA HDD powered from 5V 0.6A? Or from 12V 21.5A through a regulator to 5V?
Need I buy a new 3-pins PSU, such as EADP-300AB, APS-239?
I will take a 300W PC's PSU to replace and test my PS3 when I get it.
Any suggestions?
Thanks a lot.
