I have same problem that nice69. I have trying to unlock a Liteon 225 WB drive using Geremia's method and JF 1.86. Apparently all went well and I managed to unlock it SPI status = 00. But when it goes to vendor mode the status is 3C and I can't dump the original firmware from drive, keeping stuck "Sending Sector Erase to Port ...". This is the JF log:

Using unlockspi.exe it says drive is SW locked with status 3C. If I say yes to unlock it begins with "do what you have to do now" and immediately, me doing nothing, the protect bits are cleared and device is unlocked with 00 status code. But the next execution of unlockspi.exe enter vendor mode again and says again SPI status 3C.

Finally I managed to read the flash combining the use of JF to read, unlockspi.exe to enter vendor mode and the russian program unlock_16d4s to unlock spi state to 00, but when I write the firmware then JF always says "write verification failed" and the games do not start (play dvd). If I try to write back to stock firmware it's the same: write verification failed.

Any idea?

i unlocked my winbond and write great , but i got the ejct problem and i fix it by this tut , now the desk doesn't spin please i need any Solution?? it's 4 day ago i tray and tray >....

Do you have fixed the eject problem but now the drive don't read disk? If it don't spin up of if xbox give you "play DVD", it could be related by an too deep cut... there aren't a fix for now...
