It doesn't matter what version you have on the hacked/retail nand, it's adviced to have the same on both due to different avatar support for 16197 and 15574 (and the same for ALL versions)

I agree with you, ppl need to learn more about their consoles, the tools out aren't that hard to use, and then there are lot's of guides showing you how to do it... there are plenty of awesome guides...
